Audie L. Murphy Post No. 336


Congratulations to Post 336 for winning Third Award in the National One-Year Post Yearbook Competition!




The American Legion Audie L. Murphy Post No. 336 Historian, Brigido (Brig) Gutierrez was presented the Third Place National Historian Contest Award in Austin, Texas at the Mid-Winter Department Convention this January 20, 2012.   Standing (r to l) is Brig Gutierrez, Post No. 336 Historian; Fang Wong, The American Legion National Commander; and Walter Geraghty, Post No. 336 Commander. The award is for recording the Post Yearbook History which covers 2010 – 2011 Post events.  Post No. 336 which started in September 2008 with 12 Paid Up For Life members and now has 460 Members as of January 2012 takes pride in holding to the principals of The American Legion.  Brig Gutierrez received First Place Award at The American Legion Department Convention this past June 2011 in Odessa, Texas which afforded his yearbook to compete at the National level.  Brig Gutierrez attributes the awards to the contribution of Post No. 336 participation in various Post functions, in the community of Leon Valley, and in the city of San Antonio.  Brig Gutierrez is grateful to Post No. 336 membership as in his words; he expresses that, “These awards are the results of membership involvement in the post endeavors so it’s a reflection on all of us”.  Brig Gutierrez is compiling this years History book at this time to represent his Post in the historian competitions.

The Commander presented "Certificates of Appreciation" to the following for supporting "Post Revitalization", during the 21 Feb. 2018 General Meeting.
