The Scouts of Pack 485 have been busy this Spring with adventure and learning. In April we participated in the San Antonio Scouting for Food drive, collecting more than 300 pounds of food for the San Antonio Food Bank. We went camping at the Mays Family Scout Ranch enjoying a campfire, outdoor cooking and exploring nature. The Scouts also conducted their annual Pinewood Derby race which not only included the Scouts but siblings and parents. Our Tiger Den, 1st graders, conducted a magic show at our April Pack Meeting, wowing the crowd with illusions and theatrics.

We also welcomed our first two girls in the Pack as part of the new Scouting program. The Pack will also be participating in the Flags at Fort Sam on May 25th. Our Scouting year will conclude on June 8th at the McGimsey Scout Camp where the Scouts will bridge to their next rank. Over the summer we will hold a few informal events which will include water safety training, pool party, magic golf, and a “water wars” fun event at Raymond Rimkus Park. We are also looking forward marching in the Leon Valley 4th of July Parade along side Post members.

On behalf of the Scouts, families, and Committee of the Pack, we appreciate the support from the Post and we are looking forward to even more adventures in the 2018-2019 Scouting year.

Yours in Scouting,
