Audie L. Murphy Post No. 336

   2011-2012 History Book Competition Award

Brig Gutierrez expresses his gratitude to The American Legion Post No. 336 for the help in organizing the Post 2011-2012 History Book.  Post Historian, Brig Gutierrez, chose a Narrative format to communicate the Post endeavors for this year’s History Book Competition. As a result, the narrative book received first place at the Department convention in Houston, Texas and qualified a rating of Honorable Mention at the National competition in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Last Year, Brig’s History Book received first place in the 2010-2011 History Book competition at the Texas Department Convention in the City of Odessa, and received Third Place at the National competition in Indianapolis, Indiana.  For the second consecutive year, Post No. 336 has validated its existence as a viable entity of The American Legion, and in Brig’s words “the History Book awards reflects on the Post commitment to the American Veterans, to the Men and Women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and to the Community”.  It’s an honor to represent The American Legion Audie L. Murphy Post No. 336 at the Department and the National History Book Contest.
