Post No. 336 Installed 2012-2013 Post Officers and Executive Committee Officers on September 16, 2012 at the Leon Valley Community Center.   In attendance, the Post was honored with guest speaker Lloyd Buckmaster; Commander of the American Legion 20th District, and Chris Riley; Leon Valley Mayor (image #0005).  Guest, Ray Padilla; Post No. 2, and Department Commander, Dan Corbin greeting each other (image #0015).  Edward Cardonita and his wife, Carmen Cardonita presented the Post with a $500.00 check in behalf of Dominick Cardonita who transferred to Post Everlasting.  Accepting the check is Commander Walter Geraghty (image# 0055).  Representing the Post at the Boys State convention in Austin, Texas are (l to r) Braden Burgess and Eddie Battle who eloquently spoke of their experienced while attending Boys State in Austin, Texas(image #0071).  The family of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Stephen Joseph Perez who lost his life in Iraq on April 13, 2006 is recognized with a ceremony in Stephen’s honor. Standing at the center is Stephen’s brother and mother, Kenneth Perez and Diana Perez (image #0079).  The Leon Valley Library was presented with POW/MIA flag for the Library flag pole.  Standing at left is Stanley Meyer with Librarian Director, Joyce Miller Trent at center, and Commander Walter Geraghty at right holding the POW/MIA flag (image #0106).  Department Commander, Dan Corbin, who was the Honorary Guest Speaker, addresses the membership (image #0115).  Northwest Weekly Newspaper Editor (l to r) Lori Eaton and Staff Writer Natalie Chandler are recognized for their newspaper articles coverage of the Post No. 336.  As a result of their news coverage, the post won first place at the Department Convention in Houston, Texas (image #0162).  The Post Officers received the oath from Department Commander, Dan Corbin, and were presented to the membership (image #0187).  The new membership is given a ceremony to initiate them into the post (Image #0190).  Edward Cardonita and Carmen Carnonita posed with the Portrait of 1st Vice Commander, Dominick Cardonita and the $500.00 check made in behalf of Dom who has transferred to Post Everlasting (image #0251).
